Many of the samples used by Panchiko have been found, but there's still quite a few missing unfortunately. Here's what we have so far.

*Samples of presets used by the band on equipment can be found in

Nearly all of the samples from the title track have been found thankfully, with the iconic sample right at the beginning being from a VHS copy of Dr Strangelove, while I don't currently own a VHS copy of the film (soon!) here's a sample from a DVD copy, not quite the same quality but it does the trick :) (in the song the sample is pitched and sped up a small bit)

The drum sample from the song comes from a very famous drum break in a song called Theme from the Planets by Dexter Wansel, here's the break from my CD copy of Ultimate Breaks and Beats volume 10 (slow down for the songs track speed)

The "do-don't do-don't do-don't"'s come from Owain's copy of Burning Rangers for the Sega Saturn, if you put the disc of the game in a CD player, it'll warn you not to do so. Unfortunately i don't own a copy of it for the Saturn as it's quite the rare game, but the sample is thankfully publicly available nearly everywhere

Recently i happened to find the
Vibraphone sound on my Yamaha DJX, a sample of which will be availble on the presets page

Unfortunately the moog (possibly just a synth patch) and organ samples aren't known at the moment, but they're most likely on one of the pieces of equipment we know they used, whether a preset on the DJX, MS2000 or a sample from a random CD.

Burning Rangers Sample:

Sodium Chloride (Demo)

While i'd love to have the drum sample from the song both the dmeo and finished versions, it's currently unknown if it's even a sample to begin with, however we do have the sample from the start of the demo.
An iconic scene from Ridley Scott's Blade Runner (1982) where the character Roy Batty delivers a monologue.
I'm fairly certain the version from the song comes from one of Owain or Andy's VHS tapes, i unfortunately don't own a copy on VHS yet, but i have a sample from my DVD copy of the film.

Blade Runner DVD Sample:

Phoenix Mirror

Phoenix Mirror's main sample throughout the whole song comes from the Shenmue (Orchestra Version) Soundtrack, a Dreamcast game from 1999. I unfortunately don't own this on any physical formats, but i've cut down a WAV from a link sent by Lexi (l3xi.con - Panchikord):

The Eyes of Ibad

Recently while looking through Norman Cook's 1992 sample CD "Skip to my Loops" I came across this sound which i and a few others in the Panchikord server are almost certain is used on the song at 4:19

Originally it was assumed that it was a synth preset, but we're almost certain it's this:

That One Time a Girl Sang and Saved the Galaxy

While i'm not entirely sure on the drum sounds we are 100% certain on the sample at the beginning being from one of Owain's Macross VHS tapes, as he said back in 2020 "Ha! you found the macross sample! Used to have my DJX hooked up to my VHS in my bedroom all the time. Only had the movie version Macross. So missing loads of content."
Unfortunately i don't have a VHS copy but I do have an MP3 of the song that it comes from:

Rocking With Keith

Owain was very secretive about the piano sample from this song, only saying that "Keith" was a hint to where it came from, so here ya go friend.
it's a sample from Keith Jarrett's Sundial Pt 1at around the 8 minute mark
PLEASE if you know the drum sample let me know, i am dying to have it LOL:

Kicking Cars

The drum sample from Kicking Cars is an iconic break in the hip-hop scene, Impeach the President by The Honeydrippers. Heres my copy, again from my Ultimate Breaks & Beats CD, Volume 11.
(for song tempo slow down and pitch slightly)

The sample at the beginning of the demo version is unfortunately totally unknown, as Andy has said before it was most likely from a random radio talk show that would be near impossible to track down.

Drum sample:

Laputa

Laputa's main sample is from another iconic hip-hop drum break, being What is Soul? by Ben E. King.

Unfortunately the piano sound from the song is still currently unknown, and everything else was most likely recorded by the band then and there while recording.

Here's the drum sample:

CUT

CUT's Flute sample comes from an album by James Galway called "Song of the Seashore (And other melodies of Japan)" and in particular the song "Song of the Seashell (Sakuragai No Uta)". I plan to make a sample of this myself from my actual vinyl copy of this and run it through the Akai so we can have a super accurate sample, but til then here's a WAV cut down to fit. (from Profoundemonium - Panchikord):
