Here's a guide on how to install the Yamaha General MIDI soundfont so you can use it in you DAW of choice :)
(guide mainly assuming you know how to use your DAW, and add plugins to it.)
(IR COMING SOON!!!!! promise!!)
install sforzando! it's free :)
head over to Plogues website and download sforzando for whatever OS you use on your computer
go through the basic install process and then open your DAW and add sforzando as an instrument somewhere, you'll be greeted by this screen.

all you have to do is drag the soundfont over to the sforzando window, it'll add it automatically, then just click the "instrument" button in the top left and hover over "converted" choose whatever patch you want and start playing :) you're done! :)
in other news, i'm working on an IR of the DJX to get the sounds a little closer, as it turns out it actually does a decent bit of heavy lifting with making the sounds appear the way they do on the album. i'll also make a short tutorial on how to use IR's with NAM when i manage to get it done, huge huge huge updates coming soon as i've got lots to add. sorry it's taken as long as it has to get here, promise i've got a lot to add soon :) thank you!!!!

I made a youtube channel, that's it. that's the whole blog post.

The channel is gonna mainly be for my own personal video ideas and editing escapades but will also encompass some Panchiko content, feel free to take a look :)

Well, i added a blog page i guess. mainly for updating on my current website related escapades.
Today i finally finished my music making / sample & preset searching setup, including all of my Panchiko equipment.
Well, "finished" is a strong word. The PC in the setup is currently without a case, but it's finished as far as working with it all goes.

Currently the specs of the computer are:
Windows XP 32bit (Service Pack 3)
Core 2 Quad Q9550
2GB DDR2 800mhz RAM
GTX 760
Some random cheap 650w PSU
and A CD/DVD writer i robbed out of a Lenovo prebuilt
Software:
emagic Logic Audio Platinum 5.5.1 (sequencer)
Propellerhead Recycle 2.0.1 (for splicing samples)
Akai MESA II (for moving samples and editing stuff on the S3000XL)
And Audacity (not used super often.)
Other than the lack of a case (i want to grab a fractal design or old lian li for this at some point) i'm pretty happy with the whole thing! the desk setup is comfortable but a little messy at the moment.
On the desk currently is a:

Dell E773p CRT Monitor (1024x768 at 85hz)
Roland VS-840 connected to the sequencer software over MIDI
Akai S3000XL connected to the desktop over MIDI for sequencing and SCSI for moving samples
8BitDo Retro Xbox Mouse
8BitDo Retro Keyboard
Logitech Z333 Speakers + Sub (upgrading soonish)
Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones
and an emagic MT4 MIDI interface.
The Yamaha DJX, my guitars, Korg minilogue, and various other pieces of equipment tend to live elsewhere and are only brought here for when they're needed (the DJX is currently on my floor from attempting to rerecord the Ibad sample). My main gaming PC also lives under this desk but it tends to not get used very often now as I use this setup for making personal music, and my M1 pro MacBook Pro for making music with my band.
